About The Behaviour Guy

Dean Heald M.Ed. B.Ed. is a behaviour specialist with an extensive history working with troubled youth and their families. He completed graduate work in Special Education at Vancouver Island University and submitted his thesis on working with Youth who have experienced early childhood trauma.


His extensive experience in First Nations Communities in recent years has resulted in an exceptional insight into the many challenges that are associated with Psychological Trauma. He continues to work in support of First Nations Communities throughout British Columbia. During this time he has provided assessments for schools and community organizations, facilitated training for parents, teachers, and other professionals on a variety of topics related to behaviour, and has become a widely respected professional throughout British Columbia. 

Prior to this he worked over the last 26 years, in a variety of roles and environments, in support of troubled children and families. Some of these environments include schools, treatment facilities, youth prisons, and Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health as a school liaison worker in Duncan. His dynamic presenting style has been described as both informative and engaging.  He comes to you with a range of experiences and passion for the well being of children that he brings to his work.
